Marking six months since the destructive January wildfires, Los Angeles County officials have launched the LA County Forward Blueprint to accelerate community recovery and support residents rebuilding their lives.

 

The Blueprint aims to reduce construction costs by streamlining permitting and offering pre-approved building plans, potentially saving homeowners up to $30,000.

 

Property tax relief will be expedited, with annual savings between $3,000 and $10,000 for affected homeowners. Seventy-five percent of eligible properties have already been reassessed, and the county continues aggressive outreach to reach more residents.

 

To quicken the pace of rebuilding, the county is hiring extra staff to expedite permitting and inspections, including fast-tracked reviews for like-for-like homes.

 

Additionally, a partnership with the state will bury 150 miles of overhead utility lines to reduce future fire risk and boost community safety.

 

These measures reflect the county’s focus on resilience, collaboration, and rapid recovery following disaster.
